Step 3: Cleanup & Translation

AI agent analyses every response and flags issues. You review and decide what to keep or remove.

Automatic cleanup runs when you first enter this step. Progress shows per-question.

Once complete, you'll see the review interface

Left sidebar: Question list — click any question to review its responses

Main panel: Response table with category badges

Reviewing responses:

For each flagged response, you have two options:

  • Keep — Include this response in coding (mark as usable)

  • Junk — Exclude this response from coding (mark as removed)

Handling non-English responses:

Non-English responses require an extra step before you can proceed:

  1. The AI automatically translates each non-English response

  2. You must review each translation and choose one of: - Accept — Translation is accurate; use it going forward - Edit — Modify the translation text, then save - Reject — Translation is unusable (you can still Keep or Junk the original)

  3. After accepting/editing/rejecting the translation, you can then Keep or Junk the response

▎ Important: You cannot proceed to the next step until ALL non-English responses have a translation decision (accepted, edited, or rejected). The Continue button shows how many pending translations remain.

Stale cleanup warning:

If you go back to Step 2 and change mappings, the cleanup becomes "stale" (out of date). An amber banner appears:

▎ "Cleanup output is out of date. Review is available, but re-run is recommended."

Click Re-Run Cleanup to refresh results with the latest data.

Continue button enabled when:

  • All questions have completed cleanup

  • All non-English responses have a translation decision
