# Open-End Cleaning

Open-End Cleaning reviews open-ended responses for quality issues before coding. Metaforms processes respondents in batches, flags questionable answers, translates language-mismatched responses, and lets you keep, junk, edit, or export the results.

Cleaning is optional for coding. If you skip it, Open-End Coding treats the response file from OE Setup as already clean.
